Inspired by the rise of the Fresh Prince, Nichole started dressing in bold colors and patterns as she started to figure her identity.

Nichole describes those who grew up in Ensley as products of their own environment, those who made the most of where they were and did what they needed to survive. She was jumped into a gang around 7th grade and it wasn’t until she was right next to drug use and violence start to plan her exit, which she finally did in the fall of her 9th grade year.
