Charles at the Young Artist Concert at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham. The concert had one performer of each type of art discipline. He, of course, was a singer.
When leaving the Ensley lines, Charles was well aware of the negative connotation associated with where he called home. He grew feeling somewhat ashamed during times he explained where he was raised, a feeling he has now grown out of, citing Ensley as a place he takes deep pride in.
